Greetings Neighbors,
I wanted to let you know that the park project has started. Most of the demolition has been completed then the excavation will begin in the next day or so. The area will be sectioned off by caution tape. I strongly encourage you to keep your children out of that area for their own safety until further notice. The new equipment is scheduled to be installed on Wednesday, July 25. After the installation, the drainage system will be installed. The final stage will be spreading the 12 inches of wood chips making the play area safer. If all goes well, we expect to be able to use the new park equipment by August 1.
NOTE: The Rockland Police have been informed about this project. They are more than willing to help us protect the new equipment from vandals. They plan to have walk through patrols in the park for most of the summer. They have been driving through on their regular patrols. We hope that this will discourage anyone planning to cause trouble. If you see trouble taking place, call the Rockland Police on their recorded line at 781-878-1212. You are not required to give your name to report trouble.
