I wanted to inform you that the Rockland Highway Department has replaced our missing street signs. Our letters and YOUR calls have paid off! I received a call from Bob Corvi, the department superintendent. He informed me that there have been over 200 signs stolen in the town. This is also going on in other surrounding towns. He believes someone is stealing them for the scrap metal for cash. Please keep a watchful eye for anyone trying to steal any of our signs. Mr. Corvi also mentioned that if these signs get stolen again, they will not be replaced. It is up to US to take action and protect our own neighborhood. If you see anything suspicious, call Rockland Police. 781-878-1212 You are not required to give your name.
If the word gets out that we will be watching, there is a good chance the thieves will stay out of our neighborhood. Put the word out any way that you can that we plan to catch the thieves and they will be prosecuted. Both the police and the highway department are extremely anxious to catch whomever is stealing these signs.
Thank you for your support.
